What a Wedding!

As a guest at the wedding, I wanted to say how lovely and nice everything was. The ceremony room was beautifully decorated, and the music from the String Ensemble was wonderful. The men were handsome in their Tuxes, the brides attendants were beautiful in their dresses, and Chrissy was absolutely georgous in her wedding gown.

The setting for the dinner was lovely and the food was the best. I know everyone at our table commented on how good their dinners were (we'll go back for another dinner).

We felt like we were 'looked after' at all times from the beginning to the end. If you looked a little lost trying to find something, someone was there to help or point you in the right direction. We headed for home shortly after 11pm and our son and daughter-in-law (who came in with us) were having such a good time, they stayed behind and helped 'close' the place. I guess the 'fun and good time' won out over the sleep for work the next day for them.

So to all the sponsors involved in putting this wedding together, you ALL did an excellent job, and we look forward to more pictures on the web and also seeing the official wedding pictures when Chrissy and Chris have them. Its really been a treat for a lot of people to follow this event from the beginning to end. People telling people, telling other people. Even some waitresses have commented about it when Chrissy's mom and I go out together for lunch.

So thank you "Crave" for choosing Chrissy and Chris and letting us all be a part of it!

Well as EVERYONE knows...we got married on Sunday!

We had the most beautiful wedding anyone could ever dream of, and All of our family and friends had a great time (and they loved the gift baskets from Purdy's)!

A CHANGE Will Do You Good!

Last night the bridal party, ladies only, descended on the Change store with visions of lace and satin in our heads. And boy, we were not disappointed.

It was a dream evening….
At Change we were greeted with champagne, finger foods, a glittering selection of lingerie, sexy bathing suits, and a dedicated team of experts ready to spoil us silly. They sure did.

Armed with measuring tapes and smiles, the Change team sized each guest properly and gathered information on tastes and preferences. Then a steady stream of bras, panties, and bathing suits began arriving at our fingertips.

True to their name, Change takes lingerie shopping to a whole new level. Each bathing suit and bra set tried on by the bridal party was assessed by the Change team for fit and adjustments. And to each of us came a bit of personalized wisdom to ensure we have maximum comfort and durability from our selections.

WOW!!
We are all still glowing today from our shopping spree at Change last night. Even as I type, I am thinking of the new bra I am wearing (for those readers in the know…it is the brown one with the cream detailing and scalloped cups) that is insanely sexy, comfortable, and dare I say…anti-gravity.

Yup….we are ‘Changed’ women!

A Love Note From A Bridesmaid

Only 6 sleeps away until I have a new sister! Of course…I have always threatened to marry Chrissy anyways should Chris not have bent the knee in time. Luckily I have an amazingly smart (and handsome) brother, who of course, has made the brilliant decision of marrying the girl of his dreams. Awwwww….

Chrissy, you have been a constant joy and pleasure in our lives since Chris introduced you to us many years ago. Not only have you brought laughter and love to our family, but who else could have shimmied up my closet to yank out a dryer. Only you.

Well we're on week 9 and wow it is hard to believe how fast it has gone by - we have done so much in such a short amount of time! We're just so lucky to have such great vendors involved in the $95K Wedding!

I'm not sure if when I say week 9 you know how close we are; we are 12 DAYS AWAY!!!!! But I'm feeling really good! Everything is coming together really well and I'm just really really excited to be Mrs. Paquette!!!!!!!

The Fairy Godmother Speaks

It’s not many more sleeps now until the big day and it is usually within these last two weeks when the stress levels start to rise. This is in part due to the little details that have to wait until the end; to the friends and family that start to arrive from out of town; and to the intense focus that has become the wedding and the knowledge that soon all the plans, all the agonizing, is going to come to fruition. Well I must say that I haven’t seen any of this from our Bride and Groom-to-be, Christina and Chris. Yes there is some stress but overall they seem pretty happy and calm about the whole thing. Perhaps this is because they are having a $95K wedding pretty much handed to them and all they have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.

There have been some difficult decisions to make along the way however like which Cupcakes cake flavor is better, yummy chocolate or yummy chocolate caramel, as well as some really tough moments such as when Christina was getting her chocolate body scrub at Eccotique Spa. Then there was the drudgery of trying to drink and eat $5000 worth at the stag/stagette at Shark Club not to mention the pressure of a private trip to Birks to pick out diamond jewelry or having to smile all day while Arthur Edwardson Photography, professional photographers, take engagement pictures. And of course being the last couple days of before the wedding there is just more things for them to do! I mean really, who wants to go on Lingerie shopping spree to CHANGE lingerie the week before their wedding or have a fabulous rehearsal dinner at The Beach House? I think though, the biggest inconvenience has been working with me at Fairy Godmother Weddings. I went with them to all their appointments and helped them choose their stationery, flowers, wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses – there was just no getting rid of me. When they had a question or were looking for some advice I was there. When they didn’t know how to plan the timing of the day or what to get their attendants, I was there. When they needed an opinion on which chocolates from Purdy’s should be given as favors or what Bridesmaid dress from Lisa’s Bridal looked best, I was there. The constant support, encouragement and direction given by Fairy Godmother Weddings must have just totally stressed them out. But of course, I jest.

Like I started this update, there are not many sleeps left before Christina and Chris tie the knot at The Listel Hotel. It has been a wonderful experience and I do believe the happy couple has enjoyed themselves along the way. I myself have enjoyed working with them and their families on bringing this wedding together and I look forward to the 27th when Christina and Chris become husband and wife.

BUT WERE THERE ANY STRIPPERS?

So as everyone, I'm sure, already knows we had our stag/stagette on Friday at the Shark Club downtown.

We had about 30 or so people come with us and Dream Limousine got all of us there and back - without a hitch of course! What a fun night.....I do not remember the last time I closed a bar down!

A short recap - We got to the Shark club around 8:45pm and right from the start the service was remarkable! Had drinks, dinner, drinks again, danced (and I must say I had a dance with each groomsmen as well! Thanks guys!) danced with my man (who I can not wait to be married to!)

Final thoughts on the night - a BLAST, the night went by way too fast and not that I didn't already know this before but I am so lucky to have such great people in my life, our bridal party keeps proving over and over again why they are a part of our big day!

Hi again!

So I know I was here yesterday, but I really want to tell about my night last night at Ecotique Spa & Salon! One word; AMAZING!! Myself and Jen, Liz , Cathy & Becky all had a night that you would not believe! Facials and body scrubs & customer service that you would not believe, too! I myself am not much of a spa girl but I am pretty sure I am now converted! (hopefully Chris is not reading this, as this might be a new pricey hobby) Shhhh hehe!!!!

So last night the LOVE NEST came out and hosted an unbelievable party! The bridal party and a few close friends and I, we all got together for this. Our host Brandi was so much fun and made everyone feel comfortable. I received an amazing gift basket too! wow Wow WOW! I can't wait to go to the Love Nest store and do some extra shopping!

Chris and I had a blast shopping at BIRKS! We had already picked out our wedding rings before we found out we won the $95K WEDDING, so I chose instead.....solitaire diamond earrings and a necklace to match!!!! Chris picked out an amazing watch!
Cornelia was a great help and offered wonderful advice! We had a wonderful day at Birks and we have to say....its cool being able to wear something that is worth MORE than our cars. haha!

The Dress? MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Well, I believe its 55 DAYS until THE WEDDING & yes things seem like they are moving fast but I have to say....I feel like I am keeping up pretty good and to be honest I’m really excited!!!!

Yesterday we went to Leading Man Tuxedo’s to pick out tux’s, Lisa’sBridal to pick out dresses, and to Birks to pick out a bit of bling! (Very full day but a lot of fun!)

Second, I want to thank the wonderful ladies of my wedding party; not like there was ever a doubt, but yesterday you all proved once again why the choice was so easy to pick all four of you!
Jen, Cathy & Becky, thank you so much for taking time to come with me to Lisa’s Bridal and for knowing how special it was to me to take the time to find my PERFECT DRESS! You all did a great job of being honest and that’s why I LOVE you!

Liz, I know you tried so hard to make it out from Calgary for me and it just didn’t work out but know that I was in great hands! I do want to say THANK YOU for doing the extra running around that you’re doing on your end and for always being there for me. You are my rock, but yet you’ve always been my soft place to fall!

To my Mom & soon to be Mom, thank you for everything you do and have been doing for me. I feel so blessed that everything I need you are both there every step of the way!

Letting it all sink in!

Well it's sunday morning, and I can't believe that not even a week ago did I sign up for the 95K WEDDING! So this weekend all I've been doing is getting a bunch of homework done that Kerry (My Fairy Godmother) asked for me to do. But mostly all I've been doing is letting everything sink in!! I'm so excited, it's going to be a fast, crazy ride but Chris and I are up it! -

THE PROPOSAL

Chris and Christina have been together for 3 and a half years. Chris proposed on January 18th, one week before Christina's 25th birthday.

Here's how Christina describe the proposal:

"I got home from work on the Friday afternoon. He told me to pack my bag and we were leaving. He had booked a downtown hotel for us for the entire weekend; took me to dinner, shopping. It was all a surprise! On the second day, we went to dinner came back to the hotel room and he gave me a card it had 2 tickets to the Canucks game in it!!! I freaked out! I was so excited!!! He even bought my jersey for me to change into. Then he took me over to the window....we were on the 20th floor over looking the city and all the light....he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!! Of course I said yes!!"
